Studio Gib started as a small meme within the Hedera $GIB community on X around march of 2025. Peiji and Ħydrophoniks are both Canadian Web3 enthusiasts, who happen to love Anime and Japanese cult collectibles. There has often been some crossover between anime themes, and Web3 crypto, most notably the “Ghiblification” hype in the late spring of the same year. 

Originally, Ħydrophoniks had created a pokemon-like card of the Gib face, and shared it within the community. The community really loved the idea, and after creating “HigherGib” modeled after HigherGrounds, the community sentiment seemed to explode. We recognized the positive impact it had on the community, and the energy seemed to permeate the space in a fresh way.

After creating a few more card images, Peiji had the idea to try to print physical, holographic versions of the cards, which was absolutely brilliant. After some trial and error, we held within our hands, the first set of holographic cards, and it was amazing to behold.

Over the last few months we have mailed out quite a few packages to $gib community members, produced a lot more cards, and even started taking on graphic design jobs, and physical card prints for DPGC nft holders. Due to the increased attention and interest, we have decided to take our offerings more public, and to streamline the process through web ordering and a nice little corner of the web we can call our own.

We really appreciate and value every one of the Hedera community members that has supported us so far, and we are excited to bring even more shiny stuff into the world for people to treasure.
